Avène Hydrating Soothing Serum

Sunday, 16 March 2014

In the past couple of weeks I had noticed my foundation not applying properly - looking a bit patchy and sticking in all the wrong places. I hadn't changed my skin care routine at all and could not think of a reason as to why my skin was so dehydrated. Then, just in the nick of time, along came a parcel from fabulous team at Escentual containing the answer to all my skin woes: the Avène Hydrating Soothing Serum.

I was genuinely so excited to try this product, as we all know French pharmacy brands are one of the best kept secrets of the beauty industry. With purse friendly prices for a product of high quality, even the packaging feels expensive! I applied this serum, morning and evening for 4 days and have already seen incredible results. Please note, for the product to be the most effective, it is important to use it after cleansing and toning but before your normal day/night cream. This is a fantastic product as it is instantly absorbed in to your skin, leaving no greasy residue only a silky smooth feeling and a balanced glowing complexion.

The differentiating factor between this product and all the other hydrating serums out there is their thermal spring water from the South of France, ooh very fancy! The water has a ph balance of close to netural, aka it is extremely soothing, especially for those of us with sensitive skin, this is pretty much the most gentle stuff you can use!

As I mentioned earlier, the French pharmacy brands are extremely purse friendly this serum usually retails for only £17 ... but! Good news readers, Escentual is running a promotion on their French pharmacy products and are currently running the following discounts:

VichyLa Roche-Posay and Nuxe at 33% off RRP

AveneKloraneRene Furterer and Pierre Fabre at 25% off RRP
Caudalie at 20% off RRP
A-Derma at 10% off RRP

I hope you're all enjoying the lovely weather,

X Emma
