Rare SS14 Launch | OOTD

Thursday, 3 April 2014

I had the pleasure of attending Rare London's SS14 Launch yesterday evening. The launch was held at the very cool "Bounce" Ping Pong club in Holbourn. It was such a fun venue and was absolutely packed even on a wednesday! Our amazing hosts had arranged a private VIP area which had our own ping pong table and showcased their new collection beautifully. The hospitality was so generous, with the most delicious food and drinks flowing throughout the whole evening !

I was told that the dress code for the evening was casual. I didn't think that a dress would be the most practical for ping pong! So I put together this look:

Top: ASOS

Trousers: Oasis
Shoes: Zara

I also had a classic black coat and my huge Mary Poppins-esque Louis Vuitton bag.

Back to the event! As I was one of the first people there I got to have a proper, uninterrupted hands on look at their new collection. Previously I have had some bad experiences with other online shops regarding the quality of the fabric, the finish and just generally things not looking like the photo at all! But hooray! Rare London use what I would define as proper luxurious fabrics, with the most amazing finish on all of their items. The pieces look exactly the same as in the photos - if not better?! and I am so glad I had the opportunity to see them hands on ( and I can report back to you guys Rare is definitely going to be the next big online shop!)

Here are some photos I took myself at the event:

Another thing I love about Rare's SS14 collection is that they have a huge variety of colours, patterns, fabrics and designs .. basically something for everyone! For example if you are an athletic build and prefer to show off your legs they have the most gorgeous mini dresses and playsuits. If you are like me and an hourglass figure, so try to emphasise your waist and have a longer length dress there are the most beautiful pieces. Here are my picks from their SS14 lookbook:

The tropical print midi dress is absolutely stunning. The pattern is amazing and so different to anything else I have seen. It would be absolutely perfect for a show stopper dress for an event or with a golden tan in Miami or somewhere suitably exotic!

The green lace sweetheart bust midi dress would be perfect for a day at the races, or if you are like me and always dress up on Easter Sunday the perfect Easter dress! The shade of blue on this dress is my favourite colour to wear and the neckline is super flattering. I also love the detail on the dress such as the gorgeous sleeve and the lace...if I could design my perfect dress it would probably look like this one!

I'm going to check for you guys when the collection launches so watch this space! I was also told last night that some of these pieces will be dropping throughout the season so again keep an eye on the website!

I hope you enjoyed this post and I would like to say a big thank you again to our hosts who were so generous and kind. Another thank you for the very generous goodie bags filled with the most wonderful products that I can not wait to try, including a beauty blender, delicious green tea and a Batiste dry shampoo specially for blonde hair!
