La Roche-Posay launch event | Anthelios sun care range

Friday, 9 May 2014

Last night I attended the La Roche-Posay launch for their Anthelios range. The event took place at the most beautiful boutique hotel called "Number Sixteen" in South Kensington, which must be the best kept secret of London! Tucked away in a quiet residential street, it has the most beautiful interiors and stunning "secret garden" as I called it; the perfect setting to showcase this revolutionary range.

As soon as we walked in we were greeted with lovely warm smiles and a fantastic array of Champagne and Pimms, leaving us all feeling very summery indeed! Our friendly hosts explained all the range and its importance really thoroughly. There was even a skin scanning machine to check for sun damage that would not be visible to the naked eye. I was very relieved to find out that I did not have any signs of sun damage, but I do have a funny tan line on my nose from wearing sunglasses so much haha!

La Roche-Posay have created a very clever sun care range indeed. There are so many factors which make this range unique, but these are the top three I have picked:

1. Almost all of these products are factor 50+ for maximum protection. However, aha! They don't feel like your traditional "sun block" think thick, white gloop which does not rub in easily. These luxuriously textured suncreams sink in instantly leaving no residue and your skin with a healthy glow to boot!

2. The range is tailored to different skin types: normal/dry (blue label), combination (yellow label) and oily "anti-shine" (green label). This is absolutely revolutionary for me, as I have had terrible experiences with blemish and extreme shine inducing sun creams previously. If you think about it, you're applying the sun cream to your face like you would your daily moisturiser, so why wouldn't you use one that works in conjunction with your particular skin type/concerns?!

3. As all their sun care products are so different to anything else I have seen, it was a struggle to pick one stand out product! But I would have to say their " Anthelios XL Compact-Cream SPF 50+ " is just amazing. It is the first ever suncare compact cream which is SPF 50+. Perfect for those first few days on the beach, where you want to even out your skin tone until you get that holiday glow! The texture is perfect to give an effortlessly flawless glam beach look. I am running to my nearest boots and stocking up on this for my summer holidays!

Protect your selfie! Spot me doing a little peace sign selfie in the compact haha!

I had a fantastic time at the launch and learned such a lot about sun care. The La Roche-Posay team and The British Association of Dermatologists will be doing a 2014 sun care roadshow. Look out for them at festivals such as Latitude where they will be handing out free Anthelios sun care, so you guys stay protected from the sun!

Just as we were leaving we were asked our skin type and handed hugely generous La Roche-Posay goodie bags! Mine contained the 50+ anti shine facial gel I had been admiring and the extra comfort 50+ light nutritious oil for body. These will be perfect for my travels to Hong Kong and Koh Samui in July! I would like to say a huge thank you to the La Roche-Posay team, who put on the most incredible event and educated us on the importance of #ProtectingYourSelfie !
