In the past couple of weeks I have been having a sort of detox. This has included juicing and clearing out unwanted clothes (not only a fantastic excuse to go shopping! but also very rewarding to donate to local charity shops.) Alongside these activities I have introduced the Espa "Essential Cleansing Mask*" in to my skincare routine and as a result my skin has never looked better.
At the risk of sounding like a Marks and Spencer advert "This isn't just any face mask..." This is the holy grail of high end skin care treatments. Although it contains clay, there is no uncomfortable extreme drying sensation, leaving you unable to even move your mouth. Instead, the mask sumptuously sinks in to your skin leaving a nourished and hydrated complexion.
I suppose the hint is in the name "Espa" ... but this is exactly like having a spa treatment at home. As a bonus it even smells like a luxurious spa, so you can lie back and close your eyes for 20 minutes and enjoy complete relaxation. This would make the perfect present or pick me up treat for when you need some extra pampering.
My skin has a tendency to be a bit sensitive with masks. However, the Espa mask does not aggressively strip your skin of oils, resulting in an angry red peeling mess. Instead there is a calming and soothing sensation as it gently but thoroughly cleanses. Crucially, although my skin was deeply cleansed, the mask did not break me out, hooray!
I can not recommend this mask enough. It is gentle yet effective and has really helped to rebalance my skin, leaving me with a glowing and blemish free complexion. Just in time for my forthcoming holiday and birthday celebrations!
You can find the Espa mask online here or in John Lewis & Liberty.
