My Top Secret Party Season Saviours | Handbag Essentials

Friday, 5 December 2014

It's that time of year again, when the sparkly dresses, clutch bags and heels come out to play! But party season can be pretty hectic and I have whittled down my top party season saviours to keep your handbag ready to combat any disasters.

NueVue Phone Case* | The gorgeous hot pink leather design of this case makes it a must have on it's own. The colour means it is so easy to find in the depths of your handbag in the dark as it is not camouflaged. But as a self confessed germaphobe this innovative design is just too exciting. The clever people at NueVue have designed a phone case that kills up to 99% of germs, whilst you slide your phone in and out of it's case as you would normally. I've never heard of anything like this before and it is such a clever concept. I have noticed a significant improvement in my complexion since I have been using the NueVue case and as I spend so much time with a phone clamped to my ear, I am sure that this case must have been responsible!

Nars Transclucent Powder Compact | Tis the season to be jolly, not super shiny! Although our dresses may have gone up a notch or two on the glitter scales..our faces certainly don't need to. This is my holy grail compact and has lasted forever. A quick swoosh of this with my Bobbi Brown powder brush and any trace of shine is gone but crucially without leaving a cakey finish or changing the colour of my foundation.

Batiste Mini Dry Shampoo & New Look Hair Clip | If you're doing a quick turn around, from work to play this is a winning combination. A spritz of the classic Batiste dry shampoo, a twist and clip and you are refreshed ready to go. I am a sucker for anything miniature but this travel sized dry shampoo is practical, sensible and a complete life saver.

A Statement Lip Product |The party season is my favourite time of year to experiment with different makeup and Christmas parties are the perfect excuse to go all out. A statement lip is also such an easy way to go from day to night, a pop of Too Faced Melted Lipstick in shade Melted Peony is my go to bright lip. The melted lipsticks are perfect for a long evening as they have pretty serious staying power, similar to that of a lip stain but they don't end up travelling all over your face. If a bright lip is not so much your thing, the Clarins lip perfector in shade 02 over pretty much any nude/pink toned lipstick gives a polished, finished and glossy look.

A Safety Pin | Every girl should have a safety pin in her purse! This is the ultimate, holy grail party season saviour. It will remedy a multitude of disasters:
Strap on your dress has gone? Safety pin
Button popped off your shirt/blouse? Safety pin
Not got a racer back bra? Safety pin
Dress has ripped? Safety pin
Hem dropped on your skirt/dress? Safety pin
Buckle on shoe has gone? Safety pin

I could go on forever, they really are a saviour in some potentially extremely embarrassing party scenarios.

What are your party season saviours?

X Emma

  21. I have the very same Clinique chubby stick and use it literally every single day underneath other lipsticks to give them a more feminine, pink sheen! :) I love your reasons for carrying around a safety pin haha, I can certainly see the benefits in doing so (although I'm always worried about pricking myself)!! :)
